basil

Basil was born of the desire to utilize cork for its silky, firm and slightly elastic texture to produce a set of side tables whose originality lie in their extreme simplicity. The cork table top rests on a steel basewith an interplay arising betweenthe elevated metallic structure and the dense volume of the cork.

The elemental shape of the cork contributes to the aesthetic simplicity of the piece, which does away with all superficial detail.

Petite Friture is an éditeur de design , founded in 2009 and run by Amelie du Passage. Through its original collaborations with designers coming from various fields Petite Friture thrives on the need to give new life to products, places and moments that are beautiful, light and delicate. All of this is tempered with the same spirit and created with the same demanding levels of results.

Petite Friture was born from a furious need to scratch. The word is not a happy word, but it marvellously describes the fever and the need at the heart and origin of the project and which continues to this day.

Petite Friture is above all the story of passion for creation. The passion for design seen as a transcending passion and that waters the art of living in which our country is surely an ambassador, traditional but also (and we forget sometimes) eminently contemporary.
